Beach Travel Getaway: Hawaii

Most people who are traveling to Hawaii think only of visiting the most popular island destinations, such as Maui and Oah'u. Just as impressive is the big island, which is where we are taking you on this month's beach travel getaway. From golfing to exploring local volcanoes, to snorkeling and relaxing on the beach, we'll fill you in on the top things to see and do in Hawaii.

Hawaii is the 50th and most recent state to join the United States. It is an isolated volcanic archipelago in the Central Pacific, and its islands are renowned for their rugged landscapes of cliffs, waterfalls, tropical foliage, and beaches. Hawaii is the only U.S. state located in Oceania and is the northernmost island group in Polynesia, occupying most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean. There are eight main Hawaiian islands, seven of which are permanently inhabited.
